COVID-19 UPDATE

We hope that you and your loved ones are all keeping safe and well during this challenging and uncertain time.  

 

The practice is open!

 

We continue to follow the directives communicated by our Government and Canada’s public health experts. As our Province has moved into stage 3 of the pandemic reopening plan, we have gradually begun to start offering in person services. In keeping with the recommendations for a safe reopening, we have implemented a range of precautions to ensure the wellbeing of all clients and therapists. 


Therapists remain available for past, present and new clients through in person, virtual therapy  as well as over the phone.  

 

We recognize the significant and ongoing impact the pandemic has on our mental wellbeing. Grace North Psychotherapy is a growing private practice in Barrie Ontario supporting children, youth and adults in making positive changes in their lives. We provide evidence-based psychotherapy, parent coaching, as well as consultation services to families and community partners. 

 

We are currently seeking an experienced therapist with a Masters of Social Work to join our team at Grace North. This therapist will have experience and expertise in working specifically with children and youth.  

The position is suitable for a trauma-informed therapist who is passionate about supporting children and youth with a focus on delivering high-quality, evidenced based treatment.  

 

The position is offered as part-time with the flexibly to increase hours if desired, at pace that works for you. The candidate will be willing to offer some day/ evening and potentially weekend availability to best meet the needs of the community. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Social Work

  • Membership in the Ontario Association of Social Workers in good standing 

  • Holds current and valid malpractice insurance 

  • Strong knowledge and experience in evidence-based therapy with children/youth and families 

  • 3-5 years experience working in a therapeutic setting 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

 

Responsibilities:

  • Providing psychotherapy to children/youth/families presenting with a range of challenges and concerns

  • Maintain notes and other records in accordance with relevant college standards and legislation

  • Communicate with other professionals as needed in providing service to clients

  • Adhere to Social Work values and code of ethics 

  • commitment to ongoing professional development and personal self care
